Michael's children were never exposed to a mail-order stun gun according to Katherine's lawyer statement

Michael's children were never exposed to a mail-order stun gun recently delivered to the family's home, an attorney for Katherine Jackson said Tuesday. Child services workers are investigating the incident, but attorney Adam Streisand said the stun gun was confiscated before any harm was done. Streisand represents Michael's mother, Katherine, who has custody of her son's three young children, Prince Michael, Paris and Prince Michael II, also known as Blanket.

Streisand said the weapon was ordered by the 13-year-old son of Jermaine, Jafar, and sent to the Jackson family home in the Encino neighborhood of Los Angeles. Jermaine's children also live in the home. "Jafar opened the package in his bathroom and tested it on a piece of paper," Streisand said in a statement. He said security and Katherine heard the sound and confiscated the weapon immediately.

He said Michael's oldest son, Prince, saw the stun gun after it was taken by security. "Blanket Jackson never saw or heard the Taser," Streisand said in the statement. "Neither did Paris Jackson. Prince saw the Taser in possession of security." Streisand said child services workers have not provided him or Katherine with an update on the agency's inquiry. A phone message left for the agency was not immediately returned, but it doesn't usually comment on its cases.

"All of the kids are happy, healthy and wonderful, and that is Mrs. Jackson's only objective and concern," Streisand said.

Debbie Rowe wins case against a woman who she says gave false information to reporters about her after Michael's death

A judge has granted Michael's ex-wife, Debbie Rowe, a $27,000 judgment against a woman who she says gave false information to reporters about her after Michael's death. The amount includes $10,000 in damages for Rowe's emotional distress that she says she suffered after the interview aired on the television show "Extra."

Rowe sued Rebecca White of Key West, Fla. in July. The suit said the woman falsely claimed in interviews that Rowe was only interested in getting money from Michael's family and wasn't interested in gaining custody of her two children with Michael. White never answered the complaint. A Los Angeles Superior Court judge entered a default judgment against her Wednesday. At one point, Rowe sought a nearly $500,000 judgment but later lowered the figure.

TMZ and FOX are being sued for broadcasting allegedly stolen and confidential footage of an interview with Debbie Rowe soon after Michael died

The details of this lawsuit filed Monday in California District Court by F. Marc Schaffel Prods. raise interesting questions about the gossip Web site's news operation, copyright issues, and the boundaries between an entertainment clip and a fair-use news product. In the complaint, the plaintiff claims to be the owner of a 2003 filmed interview with Debbie Rowe. Some portions of the interview were aired in 2003, but others were held back as private and confidential, subject to a joint consent agreement between the interviewer and interviewee.

After Michael was indicted for child molestation in December 2003, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff obtained and executed a search warrant on Schaffel's home and seized the interview. Two years later, the County Sheriff represented that he returned the property and hadn't released the "confidential outtakes" to anyone. But last July, TMZ broadcast those confidential outtakes that included a conversation where Rowe talks about needing sedatives. The plaintiff says that Rowe's comments were made in the context of a joke about stage fright, but taken by TMZ to tie past drug use to Michael's death from a prescription-drug overdose.

After TMZ aired the interview, Schaffel and Rowe demanded that the confidential outtakes be removed. TMZ first claimed the video was sourced from a British TV station, but then said it came from the Santa Barbara Sherriff's Department. The plaintiff says that when confronted, TMZ rescinded the story and claimed its source was confidential. Schaffel is now seeking damages from TMZ over copyright infringement and conversion. Schaffel says the confidential outtakes have "an estimated value of potentially millions of dollars, the exact amount of which shall be proved at trial."

TMZ may try to claim that its use of the clip was "fair use" and the court may apply the "four factor" test and look into the purpose and character of the use. Does an allegedly stolen entertainment clip need to be cleared or does any broadcaster have the right to broadcast footage in the name of "news" without need to obtain consent? Will a judge apply the rare so-called "fifth" factor of fair use that takes a moral evaluation of the goodness or badness of TMZ into account? And does TMZ as a news outlet get statutory protection from revealing sources of news if they are trying to protect allegedly stolen media?

These will be questions posed in an interesting case that puts TMZ's news-gathering operation under the microscope. Schaffel also sued Fox News last month for airing the interview. Details of a possible lawsuit against TMZ were first reported by Hollywood Reporter blogger Roger Friedman last August. The complaint was filed by Howard King at King, Holmes, Paterno & Berliner.

Eight months after Michael’s death, Disneyland on Tuesday will unveil “Captain EO Tribute” at the Anaheim theme park

Eight months after Michael’s death, Disneyland on Tuesday will unveil “Captain EO Tribute,” a revamped and restored music video from the height of Michael’s fame. Following the success of the “This Is It” concert film, Disney has decided to dust off the 23-year-old music video for a limited engagement at the Anaheim theme park.

The 17-minute “Captain EO” cost an estimated $30 million to make and featured a star-studded list of credits, including executive producer George Lucas, director Francis Ford Coppola and Anjelica Huston as the evil Supreme Leader. The 3-D movie — featuring lasers, smoke and stars that extend into the audience — tells the story of Captain EO on a mission to deliver a musical gift to a wicked alien queen on a dystopian planet. EO’s crew included his sidekick Fuzzbucket, security officer Major Domo and blundering shipmate Hooter.

EO’s revival raises a question for Disneyland: What to do with the 4-D theater after the film’s limited run — bring back the waning “Honey, I Shrunk the Audience” or install a new attraction?

Joe Jackson can receive his son's medical records from the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center where he officially died

Michael's father can receive some medical records related to his son's death, a judge ruled Friday. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff ruled that Joe Jackson can receive his son's medical records from the hospital where he died. The judge will review the records first before releasing them to Joe Jackson's attorney, Brian Oxman. Beckloff also said the men can only receive records generated on or after June 25 — the day Michael Jackson died at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

He said during a hearing last week that he needs the records to decide whether to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit. Beckloff's order states a medical expert hired by Joe Jackson can review the files, but not copy them. Anyone who sees the records will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement, the ruling states.
Michael's estate had sought to quash subpoenas that Oxman issued for the files. Attorneys for the estate argued during a hearing last week that Beckloff should review the files first. They also stated the files shouldn't be released until after the results of a May hearing on Joe Jackson's stipend bid. Oxman said he was pleased with the ruling and expects to have the records soon.

Beckloff is going to verify the records do not violate doctor-patient confidentiality. Oxman said he didn't expect that to be an issue. "We are very certain based on prior records that we have from the paramedics that Michael was long deceased and that there were no communications with doctors," Oxman said. He said Joe Jackson deserves to know more about how his son died and the records will also be important in his quest to receive an allowance of more than $15,000 per month.

Howard Weitzman, an attorney for Michael's estate, said the ruling properly incorporates suggestions attorneys raised last week. "The estate feels the court's order adequately protects Michael's interests," Weitzman said.

Michael Jackson tribute in brainstorming stage for Brooklyn subway station, the original site from the legendary 'Bad' video

Subway riders in Brooklyn are in for a special treat in the coming months, as organizers finalize plans to construct a tribute to Michael Jackson in one historic downtown Brooklyn train station. In 1987, Martin Scorsese chose Brooklyn's Hoyt-Schermerhorn train station as the site to film Michael's legendary video, 'Bad.' Now, after months of debate, the MTA has finally given the green light to move forward with the tribute.

Joe Chan, president of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership local development corporation says that the organization has negotiated a deal with the MTA to spruce up the station's entrance with an artistic tribute to the late King of Pop. "We see this as a great opportunity to potentially establish Hoyt-Schermerhorn's role in American pop culture and as a tourist destination to attract people to a part of Downtown Brooklyn already rapidly growing," Chan told the New York Post.

After initially turning down a proposal to rename the station after Michael, MTA officials made a compromise with DBP, allowing them to plan an elaborate tribute instead. The tribute will be constructed on the front of a private office building at 45 Hoyt Street, which gives DBP full artistic freedom with the project. Chan said that the project is still in the brainstorming stage and that artwork has not been decided on yet. "The art could be the size of a huge mural and possibly rely on lights and projection at nighttime," he said.

All musical scenes in the infamous Scorsese-directed 'Bad' video were filmed at the Hoyt-Schermerhorn train station. A young Wesley Snipes starred alongside Michael in the video as he tried to prove to his friends that he still had his swag. The Hoyt-Schermerhorn stations serves the A, C and G train lines.

Jermaine confirms : Janet joining Jackson 5 Reunion Tour
Part of "This Is It" stage may be used in show

Word on the street is that Janet Jackson has decided to join the Jackson 5 world tour later this year! Michael was originally slated for the tour prior to his death, and Janet has now decided to step in as his replacement. Janet has now stepped in, after deciding a tour would be a fitting tribute to her brother. Jermaine said during a promotional tour in Australia, "Janet will be joining us. We're all talking about it now. She has never played with us before so that will be very special. She definitely wants to do it. We had a conference call and Janet has agreed to join us on tour."

According to Jermaine, the Jacksons will likely use some of the sets Michael was planning on using for the This Is It tour in London. "We own that stage," Jermaine told Australian press. This certainly takes the tour to the next level! Fans are probably extremely excited to see Janet join the tour.

Jay-Z: 'We Are The World' shouldn't have been updated

"I know everybody is gonna take this wrong," Jay-Z told MTV at the annual 2 Kings dinner during NBA All-Star weekend in Dallas, "We Are the World, I love it, and I understand the point and think it's great. But I think We Are the World is like Thriller to me. I don't ever wanna see it touched."

He continued, "I'm a fan of music. I know the plight and everything that's going on in Haiti. ... So I appreciate the efforts and everything, but We Are the World is musically untouchable like Thriller is untouchable. It was a valiant effort, but for me, it's gonna be untouchable." Jay said he felt that a new song should have been written instead of re-creating the 1985 classic. "I would have loved that idea better," he said.

Filmmakers from overseas continue visiting MJ's Indiana hometown

Interest continues around the world about the life of Michael, bringing film crews from overseas to his Indiana hometown nearly eight months after his death. Production crews working on documentaries for Japanese and German television were in Gary a week ago visiting spots from Michael's childhood.

The Japanese crew filmed at the small house where Michael grew up and at the former Mr. Lucky's nightclub where he and his brothers first performed as the Jackson 5 in the 1960s. Among those interviewed was Steve Manning, who was president of the Jacksons' first fan club. Manning says he wishes Michael could see how much he was loved.

Murray posing for National Photo Group at Forest Lawn Cemetery, disrespecting Michael and the Jackson Family

Not only is Murray free on bail, but he also disrespected the Jackson family and Michael by posing for photographs by National Photo Group near Michael’s grave Saturday Feb. 6 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, CA. While sitting next to the Great Mausoleum at the cemetery he posed looking especially fake, horrible and obviously aware of the photographers.

Murray probably had called them to meet him at Forest Lawn in a moronic attempt to look better in the court of public opinion knowing that he would have to turn himself into the court for Involuntary Manslaughter in two days.

Voice mail left by Murray for one of his patients shortly before the 911 call reporting Michael's cardiac arrest could prove pivotal to his involuntary manslaughter trial

A voice mail left by Conrad Murray for one of his patients shortly before the 911 call reporting Michael Jackson cardiac arrest could prove pivotal to his involuntary manslaughter trial. Murray left a 18 sec voice mail at 11:54 am for his patient Bob Russell updating him on his heart scan, reports UK's News of the World, which has obtained a recording.

Sounding calm and measured Murray said: "This is Doctor Murray, Bob. Hi, how are you? Um, sorry I missed you. Just wanted to talk to you about your results of the EECP. You did quite well on the study. We would love to continue to see you as a patient even though I may have to be absent from my practice for, uh, because of an overseas sabbatical."

Michael's bodyguard Alberto Alvarez placed a 911 call at 12.21 pm in which he reported that Michael had collapsed and Murray was administering CPR to him. According to the NOTW, the voice mail could be used to advantage by the defense as well as the prosecution. According to an LADP timeline - based on interviews conducted with Murray following Michael's death - Murray should have been in the midst of frantic efforts to revive the collapsed Michael at that time he left the voicemail.

LAPD says Murray told them that he administered Michael 25 milligrams of propofol at 10:40 am. At 10:50 am he left Michael's room; minutes later he returned to find Michael not breathing. Murray is reported to have made three calls spanning 47 minutes between 11:18 am and 12:05 pm which he did not tell the police about during his interview with them.

Murray's attorney, Ed Chernoff, aims to use the Murray's calm voice mail to discredit the police timeline and show they bungled their enquiry; "Murray's lawyers know he gave Michael Propofol and understand that killed him. But just what happened in that room in those few hours Michael was last alive will be the key battleground," a source tells NOTW.

The prosecution could use the voice mail to prove that Murray did not pay attention to Michael after putting him on propofol, or that he knew Michael was dead but made the phone calls to cover his tracks.
